TEAMS Home Education login procedure

Dear Parents / Guardians / Students,

 

We hope you and your family are doing well and we look forward to beginning online learning for our students later this week. The connection between teacher and students for all middle schools will be through a program called Microsoft Teams. This program will allow students to access learning materials, connect with teachers and classmates and receive feedback on their learning. Once you are enrolled, you will see your current core classes as Teams that you are part of. In order to get students up and running online, these are the steps we want to take over the coming days:

 

  • Students will need to know their username and password they use to log on to the computers at school. If you have forgotten your username or password, please contact Ms. Kundrik at sara.kundrik@lethsd.ab.ca for assistance.

             If you have technical issues, please contact Mr. Muise at alain.muise@lethsd.ab.ca for assistance.

  • Teachers will reach out to their classes beginning Tuesday morning with an introductory greeting through teams.
  • On Wednesday, we will be posting an introductory wellness lesson as a test of the system.
  • On Thursday, all students will receive their first math lesson.

 

We want to spend this week getting students logged on and comfortable, identify students who are not logged in yet or unable and provide alternate methods of learning where needed. We will also be sending out more communication on Wednesday regarding the weekly lesson structure, final grades and assessment and student / staff connections and feedback.

 

Please take time to review the important user information below for all students and parents prior to signing into Teams.

The Microsoft Teams platform is to be used for educational purposes only. The expectation of all students is to maintain a safe, appropriate and effective learning environment. It is not a chat room to message friends unless engaging in a classroom discussion directed by the teacher or asking for help or clarification of an assignment. All Teams postings and activity are monitored by the teacher and administration and inappropriate language, content or behavior of any kind will not be tolerated and will result in actions that may include removal from the Teams platform.
