September News and Calendar Events

Dear Parents / Guardians, 

We are looking forward to seeing your children this week! 

• STAGGARED ENTRY 

Just a reminder ONLY Grade 6 students will start on Tuesday Sept. 5^th and will have a full day. Students will need a lunch the first day. ONLY Grade 7/8 students will attend on Wednesday Sept. 6^th and will also need a lunch that day. ALL students attend on Thursday Sept. 7^th and regular class schedules will commence.  

• OPTION SWITCHES 

We understand that some students are interested in switching their options.  Please note that we will do our best to accommodate option switches as some classes are full and spots are limited in others. To make this process streamlined and consistent, we ask that you follow the procedure below: 

• Please send an email to your child’s grade level administrator (grade 6 catherine.thorsen@lethsd.ab.ca , grade 7 pierre.legal@lethsd.ab.ca , grade 8 morgan.day@lethsd.ab.ca ) with the detailed request. 
• We will try to accommodate and call your child down to go through any choices with them and make changes where possible to their timetable by Friday. 
• Our priority will be for Term 1 option changes in the first few week. 
• We will start taking option change requests on September 7^th and only take them until September 14^th.  Please note that we are not taking requests for classroom pattern switches. 

•  VOLLEYBALL CAMP 

We will have a volleyball camp starting this week.  Any students in grades 6,7,and 8 are invited to come out to the camp.  The boys camp will be in the large gym on Thursday, Sept 7^th, from 3:00 – 4:45 and Friday, Sept 8^th from 11:45 – 1:30.  The girls camp will run Thursday Sept 7^th, from 5:00 – 6:45 and Friday, Sept 8^th from 1:30 – 3:15.  Information about team tryouts will be shared after this event. 

• DRAMA PRODUCTION 

If you are new to Paterson in grades 7 or 8 and are you are interested in being part of our production of “Brother’s Grimm” this year there will be a auditions in the drama room at lunch on Thursday September 7^th and after school on Friday September 8^th. Please talk to Mr Leavitt, Mrs. Froese, or Mme Bryden for more information. 

• MEET THE TEACHER 

Our meet the teacher event will be on September 14^th at 6:30 – 7:30pm.  You will go to your child’s classroom and meet with teachers there.  There will be the opportunity to meet with more than one teacher throughout the evening. 

TIGER PRIDE DAY
On Friday September 8^th we hope students will dress up in gold and black to celebrate our Tiger Spirit!
