Parent Teacher Interviews

Middle School Parent / Teacher Conference Protocols – October 15-16, 2020

Dear Parents/Guardians,

The first Parent / teacher conference is always an important opportunity to make connections with our families. That is still the case this year. However, due to pandemic protocols, the structure of these meetings will look a little different.

Interview times are as follows:

· Thursday October 15th 1:00PM-4:00PM and 5:00PM-8:00PM

· Friday October 16th 8:00AM-12:20PM

Gilbert Paterson will still be booking in person meetings using the Division Interview Booking software. Parents must register using this link https://gp.lethsd.ab.ca/bookings . You are able to book interviews when the system opens on FRIDAY OCT 2 at 12 PM. Please note that interview requests will close on TUESDAY OCT. 13th at 8 AM.

The following protocols will be in place to ensure the safety of parents and staff during interviews.

· Only parents and guardians (no students or other children) are allowed to enter the building.

· All parents must use the Covid screening tool prior to attending interviews https://gp.lethsd.ab.ca/home/news/post/ahs-self-assessment-tool

· All parents and staff must wear masks.

· All parents must sign in at the front door and utilize hand sanitizer.

· Parents are asked to arrive only a few minutes prior to their interviews. We will ring our 10-minute bell to keep us on schedule.

· Staff will be on hand to help you find your interview location

· In order to eliminate potential contact points in the school, we will conduct interviews in the small and large gyms with interview stations spread out for privacy. Parents will be asked to stand socially distanced from others while waiting for interviews. We will sanitize plastic chairs between interviews. We ask that you please help us reduce contact by leaving the school after your interview through the gym doors. Thank you for your assistance with these protocols.

· If you are unable to make the interview times or do not wish to attend, we are not able to facilitate face to face meetings outside of these scheduled times. We ask that you contact your child’s teacher via email for an update.

The English program core teachers will meet together with you as a dyad pair.

Please note that you may be unable to meet with all of your child’s French immersion teachers as they have multiple teaching assignments. FRIM teacher will meet as follows:

8I – M. Legal, M. Bexson, M. Leavitt

You may book appointments with Phys Ed teachers as required. Please note that some option and PE teachers are also part of core groups and may not be available for specific interviews. If you have any questions or require assistance with the link or registration, please call the school at 403-329-0125 and Jennifer or Leanna will be happy to help you. Please note they are unable to take telephone interview requests.
